Kentucky Dermatology and Cosmetic Specialists offers permanent hair removal with our state of the art Cynosure Elite MPX laser. Unlike medspas, which offer temporary removal, once you receive the recommended amount of treatments, your hair will never grow back again. This technology can remove unwanted hair on all skin types and skin tones. Cynosure Elite MPX gives you the advantage of two wavelengths: 755nm Alexandrite laser and 1064nm. These wavelengths offer proven long-term results without the pain and discomfort of waxing or outdated electrolysis. The ND:YAG laser can be customized to provide permanent hair reduction. Areas most commonly treated include the underarms, bikini line, legs, lip, chin, sideburns, back, arms and neck. Kentucky Dermatology & Cosmetic Specialists has been voted Best Laser Hair Removal practices in Lexington, KY!
How many treatments of laser hair removal will I need?
Typically, 5-6 treatments are needed to achieve a 80% permanent hair loss. Treatments are normally performed 6 weeks apart. Some areas, such as the back, might require more treatments to achieve full correction, and some individuals may require a yearly maintenance treatment as well.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
The truth is that laser hair removal is much less painful than waxing or electrolysis. While it’s not completely pain free, most people describe the sensation as a similar to the snap of a rubber band. If that sounds too painful for you, we offer topical numbing cream for a small fee.
What are the risks of laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is not safe for people with a suntan or frequent sun exposure due to the risk of hyperpigmentation (brown spots) or hypopigmentation (white spots/scars). Here at Kentucky Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery Center, we recommend that you wear sunscreen and avoid sun exposure 4 weeks before your laser treatment and 4 weeks after your laser treatment.
