John G. Roth, MD joined the practice in 1992 after finishing a Dermatology residency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He achieved Board certification shortly after finishing residency. While he focused on plastic surgery early on in his career, John’s primary practice has formed around general dermatology, skin cancer surgery and cosmetic surgery. He sees patients and performs surgery in both the Lexington and London offices.
John earned his undergraduate degree at Bellarmine University in Louisville, and he graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his Dermatology residency program and then attended the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. John belongs to several medical societies including American Academy of Dermatology, American Medical Association, American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, Lexington Medical Society and Kentucky Medical Association, and he maintains board certification through the American Board of Dermatology. John served as a Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserves and on the Lexington-Fayette County Board of Health, where he was the Chair for four years. John is also an associate professor at the UK College of Medicine, where he trains residents in recognizing dermatological conditions. He has served on the board of the Lexington Medical Society and is a member of the Lexington Rotary club.
In his free time, John enjoys traveling and walking the beach in Florida. He has been fortunate to see every Western European Country and is now working on visiting all the African countries. John has scaled the great wall of China, breezed through the Taj Mahal and cruised down the Nile river. He’s currently trying to perfect his golf game, and he loves being with his family. John owns a farm in rural Western Kentucky and loves enjoying its nature and beauty. He is also passionate about preserving the wildlife in the Americas and Africa for all to enjoy in years to come.
