Sunburns & Sun Damage
Over time, frequent sun exposure can damage your skin and increase the risk for premature aging, wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation (brown spots), precancerous lesions called actinic keratoses and skin cancers. Sun damage and sunburns can be prevented with the use of sunscreens and sun avoidance.
The Right Sunscreen
When choosing a sunscreen, look for one labeled “broad-spectrum” which protects from UVA and UVB. We recommend SPF 30-70 and reapplying every 2-3 hours. Sun protection can also be achieved with the use of wide-brimmed hats and long sleeves.
